Rear anti-sway bar
Progress anti-sway bars dramatically improve handling. How? They minimize the traction-robbing body "lean" that rolls part of the outside tires off the pavement. Our Sport-tuned Anti-sway bars replace skinny OEM bars and rubber bushings with larger diameter (stiffer) alloy steel bars and polyurethane bushings. More roll stiffness means less body "lean", and the tires stay flatter on the pavement (larger contact patches). The result is more grip and added driver control!
-Less body roll means more traction, faster cornering speeds, and increased driver confidence. -Polyurethane bushings produce crisp response on turn-in.
Progress Anti-sway bars are cold-formed in-house using our custom-built precision bending equipment. Both laser-cut and CNC bar ends are MIG welded in place using a precise fixture for an exact fit. - Size: 22mm
- Adjustment Range: None
- End-links Included: No
- All sway bars are powdercoated metallic gray.
- One year limited warranty
- Includes RLCA reinforcement brackets
This is a better choice for a street car than the 24mm Progress bar. Sometimes more fun on the street comes from not having to worry so much about spinning the car. This will make the car handle better than the stock rear bar (and better than the Eibach 19mm bar), but you can still get into trouble with it. In fact a customer purchased this 22mm bar over the 24mm bar a couple years ago and still spun and wrecked it on a mountain road. He was a young man and not paying attention (sorry if you know who you are). :)
You don't want to mess with safety, so this bar is the best balance of fun, safety, and speed. But as always, be careful. The key with any larger rear swaybar is to be able to see all the way through the corner so you aren't surprised if traffic stops or if the corner gets tighter....that's how you end up spinning the car...carrying too much speed and having to take your foot off the gas. That causes the car's weight to move off the rear tires (onto the fronts) and that lessens the traction in back... and you spin.
Still, this 22mm bar is the best bar for street performance, without the edge the 24mm bar gives you that makes it good for the track but scary on the street (in the wrong hands).
